Where John McCandless Goes Into Thin Wild to Climb Mount Abandoned Bus

You know, now that I think about it, looking back at this video, I actually quite hate it. I basically slept-walked my way through the narration, and there are several amateur mistakes throughout the visuals of the video that I was either too lazy to fix or just didn’t notice afterwards. Not quite up to par for what I feel like I could have accomplished. This is a bit excusable, being that it is in fact my first video, but still, it’s also the one that leaves the first impression on people. Plus, I submitted it into John Green’s Nerd Factor as an attempt at attention-whoring.

Although, I suppose it isn’t quite attention-whoring when you only have one subscriber. At that point, it’s a desperate cry for help, as if some giant hand of power and money is going to grab my small clammy hand of amateurism and failure and lift me off of the giant cliff’s edge that is the manifestation of the YouTube universe around me.

Either way, I just don’t think that it was a good enough video to get any of that kind of recognition. I hope to God I’m wrong, because I’m basically counting on it to get any kind of real audience. But still.

Another thing I noticed after repeated viewings is that my main criticism of the book is inconsistent throughout the video. For instance, at one point I say “…the book still has its flaws, but they were mainly just afterthoughts that I didn’t really care about while I was reading the book,” and then later go on to explain how the character depth problem started to completely hinder my reading process. Oh well, the “you’re missing an arm” exchange of dialogue was one of my favorite moments as far as the visuals are concerned, so I suppose I can overlook it. Hopefully you all can, too. Happy now?

Hopefully something beneficial comes out of the Nerd Factor submissionness. If not, something else will happen somewhere along the line. I hope. I’m trying to be an optimist here, but that’s not really my thing. Either way, what you should take from this is that 1. I fucking hate this video and 2. I’m a very large attention whore. Good day.
